The lighting for the Dropbox Headquarters meets stringent energy code requirements and complies with LEED Gold standards. One company favorite for afterhours karaoke is known as “The Mint,” which is an homage to the local bar frequented by the founders in their startup days. Other spaces are designed with lighting that enhances amenities such as meditation spaces, deep focus “quiet rooms,” wellness areas, game rooms, and lounges/pantries. Dropbox is headquartered in San Francisco, CA, and has offices around the world. Dropbox is selling its massive headquarters in San Francisco as it moves permanently to at-home offices. The project has many “neighborhoods.” Some are designed with a hospitality lighting aesthetic such as the dining area and café. Dropbox is the one place to keep life organized and keep work moving. Conference rooms use indirect only fixtures to maximum vertical light on faces and minimize glare. The fixtures were chosen in a full scale on-site mockup of three top products. Open office zones utilize direct/indirect low glare light fixtures. The interior design and lighting unifies the work environment between buildings, fosters collaboration, and supports a sense of neighborhood communities. The project encompasses four side-by-side, interconnected, commercial mid-rise buildings, each with a distinctive architectural presence. headquarters, located in the Mission Bay neighborhood of San Francisco, is the largest single tenant lease in the history of the City.
